  • December 4 – December 6 – Plymouth Holiday House Tour

    The newly reopened Pilgrim Hall Museum is sponsoring a Holiday House Tour of some of Plymouth’s most beautiful homes, decorated for the holidays.  The preview party will be held Friday, December 4, from 6 – 8 pm,  and the Tour will take place Saturday and Sunday, December 5 and 6.

    Your visit may range from graceful private residences at The Pinehills to the historic homes of Leyden Street, all dressed up for the holidays.  Feel the warmth of the holiday spirit while you help preserve the museum’s superb collection of extraordinary 17th century artifacts and support its educational programs.  Your ticket includes a light lunch at Plymouth Country Club. Exact locations of houses on the tour are kept confidential until the day of the tour.  You MUST pick up the booklet and map that will serve as your ticket (and which reveal the locations of the houses) AT PILGRIM HALL MUSEUM (75 Court Street, Plymouth, MA) between 9:30 and 4:30 on either Saturday, December 5 or Sunday, December 6.  (The houses themselves will NOT open before 10:00 am).  Tickets will NOT be sold at the houses or at Plymouth Country Club.  Lunch at Plymouth Country Club is included with the ticket.  Lunch will be served between 11:00 and 2:00 each day (ticket holders are entitled to ONE lunch).

    Space is limited, so purchase your tickets early!  A discount is also available with advance purchases.     The ticket price for the Preview Party and the Tour will be $40.  Tickets are nonrefundable.

    Pilgrim Hall Museum, America’s oldest museum,  located at 75 Court Street in Plymouth, has recently completed a major expansion & renovation project, adding air-conditioning and a new entry.   The “new” museum also features an imaginative reinstallation of the  permanent exhibitions of 17th century Pilgrim artifacts.

    Celebrate the Pilgrims’ legacy in the restored grandeur of the Main Hall and then encounter the actual artifacts used and owned by the 17th century Plymouth Colonists, in a new and dramatic installation.   • Friday, November 13, 7 – 11 pm – Friends of Christopher Columbus Park Gala Fundraiser

    Join  the Friends of Christopher Columbus Park on Friday, November 13,  from 7 pm – 11 pm,  at the Boston Marriott Long Wharf, 296 State Street, Boston, for a wonderful 6th annual Gala to raise money to support the Christopher Columbus Park.  There will be a cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, & a silent auction.  The ticket price is $150, and you may reserve by emailing info@foccp.org, or logging on to www.foccp.org/Gala.html.

    The Friends of Christopher Columbus Park (FOCCP) is a non-profit organization made up of North End and Waterfront neighbors whose purpose is to further the restoration, protection, preservation, care, enhancement, improvement, and maintenance of the Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park.  The FOCCP work closely with the City of Boston Parks and Recreation Department to keep the park clean and well maintained.
    This all-volunteer neighborhood group provides funding for the Annual Trellis Lights, maintains the Rose Kennedy Rose Garden, and purchases new trees and plants for the Park.

    The theme of this year’s festival, “Keep it Local,” reminds us to celebrate all that autumn has to offer in New England. Taste freshly picked produce from our fields or pick your own, come enjoy live music each day, and meet some of our native furry critters. Visitors can: • Savor fresh Drumlin Farm food • See antique cars • Meet the wildlife! • Feel the beat with live music by the Ancient Mariners Saturday 11:00 am-3:00 pm and Mollie’s Misfits on Sunday 11:00 am-3:00 pm • Buy fresh and festive fall pumpkins, wool, and more at our country store • Enjoy a hayride around the farm—a fall Drumlin tradition • Watch local crafters creating their work, or try your hand at rolling your own beeswax candles • Participate in children’s activities and games • Learn about certified Bird Friendly®, Bird and Beans® coffee! Purchase tickets in advance by calling 781-259-2206. Admission prices are $8 adults/ $6 children for members, and $10 adults/ $8 children for nonmembers, children under age 2 are free. Event runs rain or shine. Check in faster by preregistering! Preregistration is good for either Saturday or Sunday. Drumlin Farm will be closed to general visitation for both members and nonmembers on October 3 and 4. Your ticket price provides critical support for Massachusetts Audubon’s education and conservation programs.
