    Every year, the farmers at Red Fire Farm, 7 Carver Street in Granby have an unbelievable selection of amazing and often award-winning tomatoes for you to taste. It’s a great day at the farm, with everything from a 5K Tomato Trot field race to wagon rides to cooking demonstrations to live music to crafters and a smorgasbord of local fare from area producers. There will be canning and herb workshops, plus tomato tastings in the barn, along with flower crown making. Over 100 varieties of cherry, slicing, saucing and heirloom tomatoes will be available to try. $5, kids under 10 free. Directions and more information at www.redfirefarm.com.

  • Monday, August 22, 11:00 am – 2:00 pm – Tomato Contest and Festival at Boston City Hall

  • Saturday, August 21, 11:00 am – 4:00 pm – Corn & Tomato Festival

    Verrill Farm will host a one day only Corn & Tomato Festival this year on Saturday, August 21, from 11 – 4, at 11 Wheeler Road in Concord.  A celebration of freshly harvested Verrill Farm grown tomatoes (over 30 varieties) and corn (8 – 10 varieties), the event includes unlimited corn and tomato samples and tastings of corn and tomato dishes made in the farm stand kitchen.  There will be hot dogs, hamburgers & beverages available a la carte, live music by Monadnock Bluegrass, Giddy Up Pony rides, and hayrides.  $8.50 per person, $4.50 for kids under 10.  Log on to www.verrillfarm.com for more information and directions.
