    Due to the COVID-19 virus, the Garden Club of the Back Bay Program Committee is making changes to our Winter/Spring programs that we’d like to share with you.  

    The programs previously listed in the Yearbook for March and April have been changed. ALL currently planned programs will be conducted on ZOOM. You will receive an announcement about one month before EACH event and a link will be sent to all members who sign up for each program.

    Meanwhile, save the date for Monday, January 25 from 3:30 – 5:30 for our Annual Winter Tea. Invitations will be sent right after the New Year, and will be announced on the website, https://bostonflora.com. Thank you www.sirjasonwinters.com for the perfect image.

    The 2019 Garden Club of the Back Bay Winter Tea will take place Tuesday, January 22 from 3 – 5 at The Courtyard Restaurant at the Boston Public Library at 700 Boylston Street. Garden Club member price $45, non-members $55. Names will be held at the door.

    Each year we thank our members for their support with a Winter Tea, scheduled to take place Tuesday, January 23 beginning at 3 pm, when we will return to  The Courtyard Restaurant at The Boston Public Library. Overlooking the beautiful Italianate courtyard in the BPL’s historic McKim building, the Courtyard Restaurant is steeped in history and loaded with delightful tea selections. We mix and mingle from 3:00 – 3:30 , followed by a selection of tea sandwiches and sweets, and your choice of premium loose leaf teas. Members are invited to ask friends to join them, although we must charge a separate increased fee for guests. The Club underwrites a portion of the expense of the tea on behalf of our valued members. $45 for Garden Club members, $55 for guests. Our members will receive an email notice of this meeting.     The Garden Club of the Back Bay invites you to its annual Winter Tea at The Four Seasons Hotel, Boston, 1102 Boylston Street, on Tuesday, January 24 from 3 – 5.  Enjoy delicious scones, chocolates and a variety of teas along with warm and friendly conversations on a chilly day.  Garden Club of the Back Bay member price $55, nonmembers $65.  You may reserve online at https://bostonflora.com/shop/ or mail a check payable to The Garden Club of the Back Bay to Mary Ryan, 6 Arlington Street, #2M, Boston, MA 02116, to arrive no later than January 17.  Names will be held at the door.

    Each January we thank our members for their support with a Winter Tea, this year to be held Wednesday, January 28 beginning at 3 pm at The Courtyard Restaurant at The Boston Public Library. Overlooking the beautiful Italianate courtyard in the BPL’s historic McKim building, the Courtyard Restaurant is steeped in history and loaded with delightful tea selections. Following our greeting with prosecco and cheese straws, we will enjoy a selection of tea sandwiches which may include (subject to the whims of the market) cucumber with lemon mayonnaise, smoked salmon with chive crème fraiche, deviled chicken and espelette salad, wild mushroom butter and red wine on pain de mie, lobster with chive in pate a choux, cream cheese with cured onion and fine herbs on rye, and egg salad in brioche, plain and currant scones, fruit marmalade, Devonshire double cream, and lemon curd, plus fresh fruit tartlets, assorted French macarons, raspberry thumbprints, chocolate sinclairs, glazed lemon poppy seed cake, and your choice of premium loose leaf teas. Members are invited to ask friends to join them, although we must charge a separate increased fee for guests. The Club underwrites a portion of the expense of this meeting on behalf of our valued members. $40 for Garden Club members, $50 for guests. If you are a Garden Club of the Back Bay member you will receive written notice of the tea. If you are not a member but are interested in attending, please email info@bostonflora.com. Seating is limited and priority is given to our members.

    Each January we thank our members for their support with a Winter Tea, this year to be held Wednesday, January 22 beginning at 3 pm at The Courtyard Restaurant at The Boston Public Library. Overlooking the beautiful Italianate courtyard in the BPL’s historic McKim building, the Courtyard Restaurant is steeped in history and loaded with delightful tea selections. The Courtyard Restaurant’s tea was featured recently in an article in Victoria Magazine. We will enjoy a selection of tea sandwiches which may include (subject to the whims of the market) cucumber with herb cream cheese, smoked salmon butter canapes, apricot chicken salad, turkey & Earl Grey butter on marble rye, lobster with chive cream cheese on mini lemon butter crust buns, tomato with crumbled bacon, date nut bread with honey cream cheese, currant scones, four fruit marmalade, Devonshire double cream, plus fresh fruit tartlets, assorted French macaroons, Irish coffee bars, raspberry thumbprints, chocolate sinclairs, and your choice of premium loose leaf teas. Members are invited to ask friends to join them, although we must charge a separate increased fee for guests. The Club underwrites a substantial portion of the expense of this meeting on behalf of our valued volunteers. $35 for Garden Club members, $45 for guests. Members will receive a written invitation. If you are not a member, or know a member, but are interested in attending, please email info@bostonflora.com. Responses are required no later than January 14.
