In collaboration with the Waltham Garden Club, Gore Place is very pleased to announce the return of its annual flower show, to be held this year on September 30 from 10 – 3. This is a rare opportunity to experience the spectacular 1806 Gore Mansion filled with classical and contemporary floral designs displayed throughout the 12 first-floor rooms. Each designer will create an arrangement inspired by the historic home’s beautiful architecture and furnishings. Visitors will walk through the house at their own pace. Shopping bags from our Handmade for the Holidays crafts fair must be left at the door and no food or drink is allowed.

Spring 2022 will arrive early in Southern New England when the “40th Annual Connecticut Flower & Garden Show” blossoms from Thursday, February 24 through Sunday, February 27 to the Connecticut Convention Center, 100 Columbus Blvd. in Hartford, Conn. Hours: Thursday, Feb. 24 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday, Feb. 25 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 26 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday, Feb. 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The prestigious yearly event will be New England’s only 2022 major flower exhibition and show, covering almost two acres, offering ideas for house, apartment, and condo dwellers. “Rhythm & Blooms” is the theme of this year’s show that features expansive live gardens, a nonstop schedule of seminars and demonstrations, the Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut’s annual Standard Flower Show, and hundreds of vendors displaying and selling all types of items.
As soon as attendees step into the Exhibition Hall, they are welcomed by more than a dozen live gardens in full bloom by professional landscape designers and nonprofit organizations, including naturalistic, low maintenance, native, containers, vegetables, organic, herb, and pollinator gardens.
Over 70 hours of seminars and demonstrations will be presented by horticulturalists, landscapers, and industry professionals, and are free with admission. Floral designers and backyard gardeners are the celebrities at the Garden’s annual Grow Show, where beautiful floral arrangements and the peak summer harvest are spotlighted in this upbeat, judged event featuring five design and nearly 80 horticulture classes on display in the Exhibition Hall.

Arlington’s Robbins Library will host Music in Bloom on Friday, March 27 from 7 – 9, with hors d’oeuvre, beverages, music by the Jim Nicoloro Trio, and glorious floral displays depicting songs, musicals, CDs – music in any form. On Wednesday, June 12 from 4 to 8 p.m., and Thursday and Friday, June 13 and 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Gore Place, 52 Gore Street in Waltham, will offer Be Inspired: a celebration of floral design.
During Be Inspired, designers will place beautiful floral designs inspired by 15 rooms of the 1806 Gore mansion. Visitors will be able to vote for their favorite arrangements. Admission is $15 per person. You can purchase tickets at the door.
Framingham Garden Club presents Artifacts in Bloom on Friday, April 5 from 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM at Edgell Memorial Library, 3 Oak St, Framingham.

Do you have plants that you would like to enter in a horticulture show but aren’t sure how? This Massachusetts Horticultural Society workshop is for you. Instructor Carrie Waterman, horticulture judge and experienced exhibitor, will discuss what is needed to enter the competitions. Learn how to fill out an entry card and groom your plant(s) to get them ready for a horticulture show.
