  • Thursday, March 26, 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm – Gardening For the Birds – POSTPONED

Thursday, March 26, 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm – Gardening For the Birds – POSTPONED

Even in a small yard, you can create mini-ecosystems that will support bird’s nesting and raising their young. We are all concerned about the plight of the birds. Their populations are declining due to habitat loss, climate change, and pesticide use. But gardeners can help, even if you only have a small yard!

In this Massachusetts Horticultural Society talk on March 26 from 7 – 8:30 at The Gardens at Elm Bank, 900 Washington Street, Wellesley, Charlie Nardozzi will highlight the native trees, shrubs, vines, and flowers that help provide birds with food when they are nesting and migrating. We’ll also talk about creating shelter, nesting areas, and water resources for our feathered friends along with the proper ways to feed birds through the colder months.

Charlie Nardozzi is an award winning, nationally recognized garden writer, speaker, radio, and television personality. He has worked for more than 30 years bringing expert gardening information to home gardeners through radio, television, talks, tours, on-line, and the printed page. Charlie delights in making gardening information simple, easy, fun and accessible to everyone.

Charlie hosts 3 radio shows in New England. He hosts a weekly, call-in radio show on WJOY-1230AM in Burlington, Vermont and the award winning Vermont Garden Journal on Vermont Public Radio throughout northern New England, New York and Quebec, and the Connecticut Garden Journal on Connecticut Public Radio throughout Connecticut and into Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

Charlie’s skills as a garden communicator extend beyond the printed page and radio. Charlie co-hosts “In The Garden” tips on the local CBS affiliate television station (WCAX-Channel 3). He’s the former host of PBS’s Garden Smart, reaching more than 60 million households. He has also been a gardening expert on many national syndicated television and radio shows such as HGTV’s Today at Home” and Discovery Channel’s  “Home Matters”.
