    Holiday Wreaths – Official Deadline

    We know many of you still want to order a Garden Club of the Back Bay wreath but haven’t quite recovered from Thanksgiving yet.  Luckily, you may click on line at https://bostonflora.com/shop/ and order your wreath right now!  Today is our official deadline for fully decorated wreaths, but since Wreath Week is not starting until December 7 we’re willing to stretch that date through this week.  Plain wreaths and wreaths with bows will be available, while supplies last, on site next week but we take no fully decorated wreath orders once we get to The First Lutheran Church of Boston, and we make no exceptions – just ask some of our own members!  Don’t be left out, and order today.

    It’s that time again – time to order your 2015 holiday wreath from our Online Store.  Order forms were mailed to members of The Garden Club of the Back Bay and to past purchasers, and if you did not receive one but prefer to order with a check rather than fuss with an online transaction please email info@bostonflora.com and we will email a  version for you to print or, at your request, put a hard copy in the mail to you.  Take one more task off your check list.  We’ve kept our 2014 prices for this year as well – you won’t find better value.

    Today is the day to visit https://bostonflora.com/products-page/ for that last minute order.  We will be setting up at The First Lutheran Church of Boston, 299 Berkeley Street, on Sunday, and beginning our decorating first thing Monday morning.  Orders for fully decorated wreaths not received by noon tomorrow, November 29, cannot be fulfilled.  Feel free, however, to order plain wreaths or wreaths with bows either online (through December 1, when the online store closes) or at the Church Monday through Thursday, December 1 – 4. Remember, all proceeds benefit the trees of our city!

    This year we ask that customers intending to purchase one of our fabulous fully decorated wreaths submit their orders no later than November 22.  We’re setting a limit on the number of fully decorated wreath orders we will accept in 2014 (last year we were perhaps a bit too optimistic about our abilities to fulfill all the orders we received, and while we did finish, we were drained of all rational thought by the end of the fourth day of decorating.)  Visit https://bostonflora.com/products-page/ for either a copy of the printed form, or a link to our online wreath store.  You may be able to order a fully decorated wreath after the 22nd, but before our Thanksgiving deadline, although we cannot guarantee availability.     Holiday Wreaths 2014 – Some Important Changes

    Yes, it’s only October, but the first mailing of wreath order forms will be going out soon, and we wish to give everyone notice of some changes.  Last December we were totally exhausted by the end of our four and one half day sprint to complete all the orders, and met to discuss what steps could be taken to make the entire process more fun and less stressful for our volunteers.  Fully decorated large wreaths were taking an inordinate toll on our materials and time, and this year, while we will continue to sell both standard sized and large wreaths, only standard (22″ diameter, fully fluffed) wreaths will be available “fully decorated.”  Large wreaths may be ordered plain, or with our spectacular bows, to which we will add extra streamers for a beautiful, proportionate look.

    Our pricing has been simplified.  Plain (no bow) wreaths will be $30 (standard) and $40 (large) complete with hooks for hanging.  Wreaths with bows will be $45 or $55, depending on size chosen.  Fully decorated standard wreaths will be sold for $100 (more than competitive with local florists, trust us!)  Extra bows are $15 each, and our huge poinsettias in red or white will be $50. We will continue to make matched pairs, but for orders of three or more fully decorated wreaths, there will be a $100 surcharge.   We are limiting the number of orders for fully decorated wreaths to a maximum of 150.  As has been the case in the past, no orders for fully decorated wreaths will be accepted during wreath week (December 1 – 4 this year.)  You may order and pay on line at https://bostonflora.com/shop/.

    Please remember that every cent of our net profits goes back to the community.  This is an all volunteer project, with the bulk of our materials donated by our members.  The wreaths are absolutely beautiful, and can be delivered to your door in our delivery areas, or picked up at The First Lutheran Church of Boston on Marlborough and Berkeley Streets.  We look forward to creating the perfect wreaths for your home.

    It’s Thanksgiving week, and even now you’re juggling your calendar figuring out when to shop, when to cook, what to wear, and should you bother polishing the silver.  Take one task off your list and order your wreath today by clicking HERE. 

    Our ordering deadline is Thanksgiving Day for fully decorated wreaths, although, since our wreath chairs will be by the computer this weekend, a Friday or Saturday order will be entertained.  Email the details to info@bostonflora.com, and the paperwork and check may follow (or pay through PayPal right on this site.)

    Pastors Ingo R. Dutzmann, Paul Lantz and their parish will again host The Garden Club of the Back Bay for wreath making on the lower level of The First Lutheran Church of Boston, 299 Berkeley Street (on the corner of Berkeley and Marlborough Streets). We are very, very grateful. Please note that we are setting up the space on Sunday, December 1 and will be ready to work first thing Monday morning – Monday participation by as many of you as possible is critical to our success. The hours are as follows:

    Monday, December 2 – 8:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. (decorating)
    Tuesday, December 3 – 8:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. (decorating)
    Wednesday, December 4- 8:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. (decorating, delivery)
    Thursday, December 5- 8:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. (decorating, delivery, clean up)

    Please come to the side door on Berkeley Street. We’ll post a sign. Coffee and baked goods will be available each morning, and catered lunches will be delivered all four days. Dried materials and fresh greens can be delivered to the Church no earlier than Monday, December 2. Please have all decorations “cleaned down” – branches cut down, dead leaves removed – so we can contain the mess we inevitably make. Delicate materials can be laid flat in sweater boxes or gently stacked in cardboard containers. We are going to need as many dried items, especially flowers, as we can collect.

    Bring clippers and scissors if you have them, labeled with masking tape for ease of identification. Aprons are also a good idea. Dress comfortably! We need everyone’s help, whether you decorate, deliver, organize, make telephone calls confirming delivery, or sweep. Contact info@bostonflora.com if you have any questions.

    Holiday Wreaths 2013 Season Kickoff

    While you may think we’re crazy to think about holiday wreaths in October, we actually think about holiday wreaths all year long.  In summer and fall we clip and dry natural materials, buy ribbon on sale, schedule venues, design order forms and advertisements, and generally obsess about the beautiful creations we will make in December.  This year, our wreath project will be in full swing December 1 (set up at The First Lutheran Church of Boston), then, on Monday December 2 – Thursday December 5, we will produce and deliver hundreds of glorious wreaths for our neighborhood and beyond.  All proceeds benefit the trees of Back Bay, and help fund our many charitable projects.  Order forms will be mailed soon to customers from the past two years, and to our membership.  If you are not on that list, you may print the order form from this website, email info@bostonflora.com and request one (we can send it by email or snail mail as you prefer,) or call 617-859-8865 and leave your name, address and telephone number.   Over the next weeks we will feature pictures and information on our many styles, each of which is custom designed for the customer.
