    Enjoy a wagon ride, games, live music, stories, and refreshments at Gore Place’s first annual Autumn Fest on Sunday, October 27 from 1 – 4. See their scarecrows! Wear your costume! Recommended for families with children ages up through 10 years old. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free parking. No reservations necessary. $5 per person, all ages, members free.   • Friday, May 17 – Sunday, May 19, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm – Gore Farm Plant Sale

    This year, the Gore Farm plant sale will feature vegetable garden transplants with 25 varieties of tomatoes, including hard-to-find heirlooms; culinary herbs; select, annual flower varieties; and beautiful hanging baskets. The sale takes place Friday, May 17 – Sunday, May 19, from 9 – 4, at Gore Place, 52 Gore Street in Waltham. Free admission.

    It’s not just the great plants that make this sale great. It’s also the chance to speak with gardener Scott Clarke. Scott has a great deal of knowledge about these varieties that he’s eager to share with you! For additional information call 781-894-2798.

  • Saturday, April 27, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm – Sheepshearing Festival 2013

    Now in its 26th year, this outdoor Gore Place Farm Festival has become a family favorite and a tradition throughout the region.  Enjoy demonstrations of sheep-shearing, herding dogs, spinning, weaving and gardening on a beautiful 45 acre estate. Large crafts fair, live entertainment, historic demonstrators, games and farm animals. Wagon rides and museum tours (additional charge).  Gore Place is located at 52 Gore Street in Waltham.  Admission is $15 adults and teens, children 12 and under (with adult) free.     Enjoy a traditional full English tea of scones, tea sandwiches, and assorted sweets served in the entertainment suite of the beautiful 1806 Governor Gore Mansion, 52 Gore Street in Waltham. After tea, guests will join a guide for a tour of the private quarters of the mansion.

  • Sunday, September 23, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm – Harvest Season Morning at the Mansions

    On Sunday, September 23, from 10 – 1, take a trip back to harvest season 1821. Shuck corn and crib it for drying. Then, feed corn to the pigs.     Gore Place, 52 Gore Street in Waltham, will sponsor a series of family activities on Saturdays from July 7 – 21. Fun on the Farm (July 7), is a visit to the farm, the animals and gardens. Free. Fun With Butterflies (July 14), will feature activities in the mansion and gardens, $5 per.   • Saturday, May 15, Friday & Saturday, May 21 – 22, and Saturday, May 29, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm – Annual Garden Plant Sale at Gore Place

    Come purchase a wide variety of open pollinated annuals, perennials, herbs and fifteen varieties of heirloom tomatoes.  These are beautiful, hard-to-find varieties that will enhance any border or decorative garden.  You’ll have the chance to confer with Gore Place gardener Scott Clarke.  Scott has a great deal of knowledge about these varieties and he is eager to share his expertise.  The dates are Saturday, May 15, Friday and Saturday, May 21 – 22, and Saturday, May 29, from 9 – 3, but come early, since some of the offerings may be in limited supply.  Gore Place is at 52 Gore Street in Waltham, Massachusetts, and you may email events@goreplace.org for more information, or call Thom Roach at 781-894-2798.
