  • Saturday, June 4, 9:00 am – 12:00 noon – Andover Garden Club Plant Sale

    A variety of plants will be offered for sale by the Andover Garden Club on Saturday, June 4, from 9 – noon, primarily perennials that are proven performers in Andover-area gardens.  In most cases, the divisions will be considerably larger than those offered for sale by garden centers.  AGC members will be on hand to offer “how to” advice on planting and growing the plants.The sale will take place at the Old Town House, Main Street in Andover, and admission is free.  For more information call 978-337-7942, or email wrightspaces@comcast.net.  Below is monarda ‘Fireball.’

  • Saturday, June 4, 11:00 am – 2:00 pm – Sprouts

    Tower Hill Botanic Garden’s Annual Specialty Plant Sale – Repotted! – will take place Saturday, June 4.  Members only hours are 9 – 11, and the general public is invited from 11 until 2.  Free to members, $5 per car for non-members.  This year for the first time Sprouts includes specialty nurseries of the highest caliber and purveyors of fine and unusual garden-related items.  Tower Hill is branching out to offer new resources for the finest quality plants and unique garden ornaments all in one location.  Knowledgeable volunteers and staff will help you with your plant selection and questions on cultural information.  Bid at two silent auctions featuring choice, specimen plants and garden ornaments.  Harvey’s Farm of Westboro will give away 100 plants during the 9 – 11 Members Only sale with any plant purchase of $50 or more, first come first serve, while supplies last.  Plant society participants will include Cactus & Succulent, Conifer, Daylily, Heather, Hosta, Lilac, Miniature Plants, and Rose.  Bring cash or check – many groups are unable to accept credit card purchases.  Please consider a donation to the Wagon Fund, so Tower Hill may purchase more carrying wagons for the Plant Sale customers – look for the donation boxes.  For more information, log on to www.towerhillbg.org.

  • Saturday, June 4, 9:30 am – 3:30 pm – Patriot Daylily Society Sale

    The Patriot Daylily Society Sale features a wide selection of colorful daylilies from members’ gardens, freshly dug and ready to plant in your garden. There will be many modest-priced daylily classics (many not available in garden centers) as well as more recent introductions. Members will be on hand to give instructions on daylily planting and care. Members will also bring a nice selection of perennial companion plants including hostas, phlox, Shasta daisies, monarda, and ferns. The sale is a fundraiser for the non-profit Patriot Daylily Society, which welcomes all New Englanders interested in daylilies. The sale location is at the Waltham Field Station of the University of Massachusetts, 240 Beaver Street in Waltham, on Saturday, June 4, from 9:30 – 3:30, and will be held rain or shine!   • Saturday, May 28, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm – Spring into Summer: A Celebration of Plants

    Help the Polly Hill Arboretum in West Tisbury celebrate the seasonal opening of its Visitor Center and plant sale season on Saturday, May 28, from 10 – 2.  In addition to plants for sale, there will be special tours, garden talks, a tree raffle, family discovery tours, and more.  The Artcliff Diner Food Truck will be on hand with food for sale.  Join Tom Clark for a special 9 am early bird tour.  Free.  For more information, log on to www.pollyhillarboretum.org.

    The much-awaited Annual Long Hill Plant Sale, to be held Saturday, May 21 from 10 – 2 at The Trustees of Reservation’s Long Hill property in Beverly, Massachusetts,  offers a great selection of unusual plants and old favorites including Tulip tree, Japanese Snowbell (below), Dove Tree, Japanese Maple, and more! Sale includes a silent auction, hundreds of perennials including many native, and a connoisseur’s corner. Enjoy a stroll through the Sedgwick Gardens which will be in peak bloom.     The Garden Club of Buzzards Bay will hold its annual plant sale at 783 Dartmouth Street in South Dartmouth on Saturday, May 14, from 9 – noon.  Admission and parking are free.
